The Agricultural Development Agency (ADA) on Tuesday announced the launch of the national "Agriyoung Innovate" competition to encourage youth entrepreneurship.

“As part of the activation of an ambitious youth entrepreneurship program that is at the core of the main objectives of the Green Generation Strategy 2020-2030 led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Marine Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, the ADA is to launch the National Agriyoung Innovate Competition,” notes a press release from the agency.

The goal is to identify, select and support innovative projects, in the field of digital and climate-smart agriculture, led by young enthusiasts who adopt a holistic approach to entrepreneurship, in order to give life to an ecosystem conducive to the professional integration of young people explains the same source.

"Agriyoung Innovate" is a challenge that aims to put innovation at the service of Moroccan agriculture. This pilot project, launched in close collaboration with the P-Curiosity Lab (PCL) of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), aims to promote rural development and aims to provide strong support to youth with innovative solutions to the need to transform the agricultural sector.

This national competition will be held in 4 main stages. The first relates to launching a call for projects and selecting 20 initiators of innovative projects in the field of digital and climate-smart agriculture. The second step is to support the selected project leaders with intensive 5-month training, mentoring and mentoring sessions, support for prototyping, and networking.

The third phase will be devoted to the presentation day, the day during which the 20 project leaders will have the opportunity to present their projects to a panel made up of experts, investors, and partners in the field of agriculture. At the end of this stage, three winners will be awarded.

The fourth and final phase will focus on supporting the implementation of the three winning projects through a dedicated post-support program that includes the business creation process, preparation of the business plan for obtaining financing, obtaining the first customer purchase order, and networking with the UM6P ecosystem.

As such, the ADA strongly invites interested and enthusiastic young project leaders to submit their applications on the website dedicated exclusively to this competition “www.agryyounginnovate.com” before August 3, 2022.
