Fouzi Lekjaa was re-elected president of the  Moroccan Football Federation on Friday in Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamoura (near Sale), during the General Assembly (AGE) of the Federal Authority.


Lekjaa, the only candidate in the race, was reappointed unanimously by the delegates present in this council, for a third four-year term.


The Elections Committee of the Federal Elections Authority announced that it had received only one list of candidates for the presidency, and the steering committee of the Federal Authority was headed by Fawzi Lekjaa.


She pointed out that "after examining Lekja's candidacy file, the electoral commission determined that it met the required oversight conditions."


The new steering committee is composed of Hamza Al-Hajwi and Mohamed Godard, the first and second deputy, respectively, in addition to Saeed Al-Nasiri, Mohamed Al-Taymoumi, Boubaker Al-Ayoubi, Mouloud Agif, Abdelaziz Bouderbala, Khalil Rouissi, and Mohamed Boudrika.


During this meeting, the ethical and financial reports of the Federal Governing Council were unanimously approved by the 52 delegates present, in addition to the amendments to the Statute of the Federation, the Dispute Resolution Chamber, and the Disciplinary Code.


Speaking on this occasion, Lekjaa said that for the first time the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Federation is being held in the Mohammed VI Football Complex, "which is a source of pride for all Moroccans".


During this meeting, which was held in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of National Education, Pre-School and Sports, the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, and many personalities and club delegates, he indicated that "the year 2022 will be an exceptional year at all levels.". When it came to the future of the national team, Lekjaa was keen to reassure the national public.


“The Atlas Lions will honor Moroccan football in Qatar. He said that the decision on the head of the technical tape for the national selection will be made in due course.


He added that we will now have to face many challenges, especially the organization of the Women's African Cup of Nations next July in Morocco, noting that this event will be an opportunity to give a new impetus to women's football.


He said that promoting women's football is part of the royal vision to improve the status of women, calling on all stakeholders to spare no effort to ensure the success of this great event.


According to the president of the federation, the dedication of the results achieved and the African leadership of the Kingdom, at the level of clubs and choices, should be a primary goal for the new executive office.


He added that the focus should also be placed on the creation of infrastructure dedicated to training and the effective implementation of the construction site for sports companies from next season.


For his part, the representative of the Confederation of African Football, Slimane Wabiri, confirmed that this meeting is taking place at a time when Moroccan football is living in the sky of African football, with the coronation of Wydad Casablanca and the renaissance of Berkane in the continental cups and.
