A memorandum of understanding was signed, on Tuesday, in Farnborough (southwest of London), between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Canadian company GAL Aerospace, for the realization of an integrated project in Morocco to develop a production and modification unit. And the completion of the interiors of the cabin of the aircraft.


This agreement was signed by Minister of Industry and Trade Riyad Mazour and President of Gal Aerospace Bruno Morin on the occasion of Morocco's participation in the Farnborough International Airshow, which will be held from July 18 to 22.


The project includes an investment of 125.3 million dirhams (12 million US dollars) and will be implemented in Casablanca in 2023, allowing the creation of 240 direct jobs.


Thus, the establishment of this unit will allow Morocco to enhance its attractiveness by localizing GAL's activities with its European and African clients at the level of its Moroccan location, according to a press release issued by the ministry.


On this occasion, Mr. Mazur stressed that "this project is in line with our national priorities to enhance the Kingdom's industrial sovereignty in terms of aircraft modification, by realizing some of the operations that are currently being implemented in Europe."


Developing the “indoor cabin” activity in Morocco, which is the missing link in the national supply chain, is a new achievement that adds many assets to the national aviation platform, whose global competitiveness is strengthened. A Canadian company with more than 20 years of presence, GAL is established in Canada, the United States, and Colombia. It specializes in the repair, design, and manufacture of cabin interiors and the modification and completion of aircraft.


Its main markets are luxury business aviation, aircraft interior repair, and aircraft modification in small batches. As for its capabilities, it mainly focuses on cabin interior modification, cabinet fabrication, seat padding, composite panel manufacturing, and large format 3D printing.
