Desiring to compete with the superior Moroccan army in owning warlike “drones”, the Algerian forces continue their efforts to acquire this type of weapon from China, in order to break Morocco’s dominance over the “African drone” market.
In this regard, El Espanyol newspaper indicated that El Mouradia Palace has entered into new negotiations with the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation in order to purchase four WJ-700 Falcon UAVs.
The same media source confirmed that the Algerian army wants to acquire four military units of these “drones” that reach speeds of 700 kilometers per hour and have an endurance capacity of 20 hours of flight.
The Iberian publication indicated that North African countries are keeping pace with the international military trends that are currently centered around the “drone war”, by purchasing these drones, which reflect the “third-generation” weapon of war.
While Morocco went to America, Israel, and Turkey to meet its military needs in this field, Algeria chose the eastern pole represented by Russia and China to compete with the Moroccan army in its recent armament steps.
The arms race between the two countries has shifted from focusing on fast jets to giving priority to drones, which military technology experts list as superior weapons in battles, given their small size, which allows them to hide from radars.
In this regard, Muhammad Al-Tayyar, an expert in security and military affairs, explained that "the drones are now carrying out many of the tasks carried out by modern combat aircraft in the field of military industries."
The pilot confirmed, in a statement to Hespress Online, that “drones are an effective weapon in modern warfare; Which made most countries race to produce advanced types of these aircraft and provide them with devices that make them used in a variety of fields that respond to the requirements of modern war.”
And he added, "The Algerian military regime's purchase of four drones from China does not constitute an exceptional or new act. Several sources have talked about Algeria's efforts to obtain this type of aircraft from the Houthis in Yemen, as well as from Hezbollah and Iran.
The military expert added, explaining that "these endeavors were mainly aimed at providing the Polisario with this weapon in light of the great Moroccan supremacy so that Morocco took full control by air over the buffer lands of the Moroccan Sahara."
He continued, "The military regime's acquisition of four Chinese marches will not change the equation anything; Morocco possesses an important arsenal of highly accurate drones, which have proven superior to their Chinese theory, especially Turkish, American and Israeli aircraft, and Morocco has entered the early stages of manufacturing drones equipped with very advanced systems.”
The pilot pointed out that "the attempts of the Algerian military regime to reduce the distance of Moroccan supremacy in this field remain limited since Morocco has decided its decision to join the club of manufacturers of advanced military drones."
He concluded by saying: “It remains certain that the Algerian military regime, which has reached an advanced level of slack, weakness, and isolation due to the conflict between its wings, which has reached a stage that predicts the imminent dispersal of its fragments, will not be able to obtain four Chinese drones from a reality characterized by poor readiness and declining combat morale. “.
