The Independent Water, Electricity and Sanitation Distribution Board of Directors between the municipalities in the governorates of El Jadida and Sidi Bennour (RADEEJ) announced, on Tuesday, its compulsory resort to limiting the flow of potable water, as of July 25, 2022.

A press release issued by the administration explains that this measure comes “due to the water emergency imposed by the Kingdom, following climate change and a decrease in rainfall, which had a strong impact on the groundwater level and the rate of filling of dams.”
This situation can even be explained by "high consumption", the promulgation adds.
According to Reddig, these measures are part of the efforts to preserve the water heritage, and in implementation of the Minister of Interior Circular 12312 dated July 19, 2022, regarding the management of water resources.
In this regard, the Department calls on its clients, as well as all citizens, to conserve water resources, adopt reasonable consumption and apply best practices in the context of water resource conservation.
