“The decision to leave Formula One at the end of the year was difficult and I thought about it a lot.
At the end of the year, I would like to take some time to think about what I want to do next.” This was announced by the German rider in a press release from his team.
After four world championship titles with Red Bull (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), the German moved to Ferrari in 2015 and won again the Scuderia to no avail.
After leaving Ferrari in 2020, the German has joined billionaire Lawrence Stroll's ambitious plan to restart the Aston Martin team.
Sebastian Vettel is struggling with the British house (zero wins since 2021) and is on the cusp of retirement after his 16th professional season.
Sebastian Vettel, 35, has 53 Grand Prix under his belt and is on the third stage of the podium among the riders with the most wins, second only to Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.
According to our teammates, he will be replaced next season by his son Mick.
