| CAF decides to change the Champions League final system and postpone the African Nations Cup |
from a match to be played in a neutral stadium to returning to the final in two matches, back and forth; This was during the meeting of the Executive Office, which is currently taking place in Rabat.
The CAF confirmed, in its current meeting in a hotel in the capital, Rabat, that the Champions League will take place according to the old system, and will play back and forth as it was earlier after the last version witnessed a lot of media turmoil regarding the hosting of the stadium belonging to the Mohammed V sports complex in Casablanca.
For the last final, which brought Wydad Sports Club to Al-Ahly of Egypt, the Moroccan team crowned it with two clean goals.
In a related context, the executive office of the African Football Guardian Authority agreed to launch a new league that brings together the most prestigious teams in the “black” continent, as it gave the green light to the start of the “Super League” championship, starting from the 2024/2025 season officially.
The CAF also decided to change the date of the start of the African Cup, to be held in Ivory Coast next year, to January 2024; Morocco also requested that “Cannes” under 23 years old be submitted from November 2023 to June of the same year.
