Many social media pioneers demanded, in an electronic petition, to ban the “Beer Festival”, which is expected to be organized next October in the Bouskoura region of Casablanca.
The petition did not mention its authors, but it was published under the name of the Identity Enhancement Forum.
The petition above stressed that the festival is considered a violation of Sharia and Islamic provisions and Moroccan laws and customs.
The same source also called on the Moroccan authorities not to grant a license to the festival, as it contradicts the wise diplomacy of countries that must respect the specificities of the countries in which their institutions operate.
It is noteworthy that the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry had previously announced hosting the first edition of the Beer Festival in Morocco.
This announcement led to a group of mixed reactions, as this matter prompted Fatima Zahra Bata, a member of the Parliamentary Group for Justice and Development, to direct a written question to the government in this regard.
The second category of social media pioneers expressed that such an initiative would create fun among young people and beer lovers.
