The 17th edition of the Timitar festival will be organized from July 15 to 16 in Agadir, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
After two years of mandatory shutdown due to the health context, Timitar is offering 16 concerts this year and a rich musical program that promotes the values of tolerance and living together says a press release from the Timitar association.
From ancestral Amazigh music to the Moroccan pop scene, passing through the intoxicating rhythms of Colombian and emblematic salsa Chaabi, Timitar, which will see the participation of 50 artists, including Rayssa Fatima Tabâamrant, Hatim Ammor, Oudaden, Zina Daoudia, Stati, Yuri Buenaventura, Ahmed Amaynou and Hoba Hoba Spirit, promises moments of joy, dance, and communion, notes the same source, adding that 800,000 festival-goers are expected during the two days of the festival.
Timitar's OFF program will encourage and support several works and cultural events including the forum on the promotion of the Art of the Always with the presentation of the Beautiful book, "Journey in the universe of the Airways", from the perspective of the registration of this authentic art to the list of intangible heritage of UNESCO.
It is also planned to provide support for the production of the new album by rapper Jamal Rass Derb. The album called “Tifawine” promotes the ancestral Amazigh heritage, in particular the art of tandem.
In addition, this year's OFF program will also feature a humorous evening with artists: Rachid Aslal, Hamid Achtouk, Chaouchaou, Hassan Allioui, Qimroune, Zahra Tamgroudt, Mohamed Bouderka, Qimroune, and many others.
