In a document sent to the financial authorities, Elon Musk announced that he would be ditching Twitter. Trouble, don't get out of a contract of this kind on a whim.

Elon Musk's lawyers assert that the social network did not honor its obligations under the agreement, in particular by not providing all the required information about the number of incorrect accounts and spam.
"Twitter failed to comply with multiple terms of the agreement and appears to have provided false and misleading information on which Mr. Musk has relied to enter into the acquisition agreement," the letter read.
Last April, the businessman reached an agreement with Twitter's board of directors to buy the social network at $54.20 per share, or $44 billion in total.
But since last May, when Elon Musk temporarily suspended the acquisition, Twitter has crashed in the stock market and lost nearly a quarter of its value. Tesla shares have also lost nearly 25% in the stock market since the acquisition was announced.
