The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided, on Sunday, to postpone the African Cup of Nations, initially scheduled from June 23 to July 23, 2023, in Côte d'Ivoire, to January - February 2024.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe announced this decision at the conclusion of the CAF Executive Committee meeting held in Rabat, on the sidelines of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (Morocco 2022), which opened on Saturday.
“I must tell you that I am very proud of the good work done by Côte d’Ivoire, with excellent progress. The main problem here is the rain and the weather. This is the one and only reason why the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) moved to Côte d'Ivoire in January / February 2024.
