The opening session of this forum, which invited African personalities to discuss with senior representatives of European institutions and international organizations, as well as with official bodies and business circles in the world, was marked by the participation of the Minister of Industry and Trade Riyad. Forger.

This extraordinary session aims to “create an international network to support the efforts of African countries, calling for a new roadmap, based on good governance, human development, innovation, and the pursuit of economic sovereignty.”

“With the spread of the Covid19 epidemic, the war in Europe, and the looming economic and financial crisis, the world today is in a very dangerous situation,” said Jean-Paul Cartieron, President and Founder of the Forum de Crans Montana.

Believing that “one of the first conclusions to draw from this situation is that the world is now at the end of this rampant globalization and deregulation,” Carteron asserted that “only good governance of the state can allow us to deal with this turbulence and multiple crises that arise.”

He said, "Facing the failure of the role of the international community in the face of the multiple difficulties that arise, Africa, which has directly suffered from the damages and consequences of crises, today needs to recover and impose itself."

According to him, “Africa can no longer be the last carriage on the international relations train.”

He appealed that it is appropriate today "to think about how to turn flexibility into opportunities for the continent to establish itself as a major player in international decisions."

This three-day special session of the Forum will discuss building a new partnership between Africa and Europe, security challenges, strengthening public health systems, financing public investment, and the place of African women in the fight for food security.

Founded in 1986, the Crans-Montana Forum is a Swiss international non-governmental organization with global activity. In 1998, with the support of the Swiss Federal Council, the Forum embarked on "enduring" work in favor of the development and global integration of Africa, each time bringing together leaders from the worlds of politics and economics.
