Several catering establishments in the Kingdom have increased the prices displayed.
This situation is explained by the crisis between Ukraine and Russia, which has impacted the price of fuel worldwide, in turn impacting the purchase price of certain food products.
Contacted by Le Site Info, Noureddine El Harrak, the president of the national association of owners of cafes and restaurants, assured that this price increase, between 2 and 5 dirhams, is justified insofar as these establishments suffer the effects of the crisis, not to mention the law of supply and demand.
If this increase is not to everyone's taste, it should be felt especially during the summer season, when there is a high influx of establishments offering catering services.
In addition, it should be noted that according to the latest data from the Casablanca administrative police, 75% of catering establishments in the city do not comply with the hygiene measures in force.
On this point, El Harrak told us that these statistics are "abnormal", insofar as the checks carried out are not necessarily appropriate, in particular, because of the technical means available and the lack of training of the staff of the said establishments.
For the president of the national association of cafe and restaurant owners, it is above all a question of putting in place a law to regulate these controls, in addition to reviewing them so that they are more suitable for establishments in the Kingdom.
