today, Sunday, that the “African Super” match between Wydad Sports, the champion of the African Champions League, and the Al-Nahda Berkani team, the champion of the “CAF Cup”, will take place in Morocco.
The same source said, in a statement to MAP, that the executive office of the Confederation, which met today, Sunday in Rabat, on the sidelines of Morocco's hosting of the African Cup of Nations for women, authorized the Royal Moroccan Football Association to determine the time and place of the establishment of the "African Super".
A source from the Confederation of African Football stressed that “the statement of the CAF president, during the press conference he held after the meeting of the executive office, was misunderstood, to be linked to” holding the match in Tanzania next August.
The same source highlighted, according to the “LAMAP” agency, that the “CAF” meeting next August in Tanzania “is for the purpose of studying the Super League project; Not the African Super.
Wydad sports team crowned the African Champions League title after defeating Al-Ahly of Egypt, while Nahdet Berkane won the Confederation Cup after defeating the South African “Orlando Pirates”.
Al-Ahly of Egypt was crowned in the last version of the “Super Cup” after its victory over Raja Sports, with two goals to one, in the match that was held in the Qatari capital, Doha.
