Major League Soccer (MLS) on Monday confirmed the arrival of Wales captain Gareth Bale to Los Angeles F.C.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) club on Monday confirmed the arrival of Wales captain Gareth Bale to Los Angeles FC, with a 12-month contract and options up to 2024.
“Gareth is one of the most dynamic and inspiring players of his generation,” said John Thorington, co-chair, and general manager of LAFC. "Acquiring a player who brings his talent and experience is a great opportunity for our club," he added.
After nine years at Real Madrid (258 games, 106 goals, 67 assists) and five Champions League victories, the 32-year-old striker, with a passion for golf, announced his departure this weekend on social networks.
Bale has played 105 international matches with the Wales national team since 2006, scoring 28 goals and making 22 assists. He allowed his country to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar for the first time in 64 years.
Having started at Southampton, Bale wore the Tottenham shirt from 2007 to 2013 (146 games, 42 goals) and then moved to Real Madrid and collected 19 trophies, scoring twice in the Champions League final in 2014 and 2018.
